What to Knit?

I recently acquired a massive cone of a surprisingly beautiful cotton/rayon, rose-colored yarn. So silky! So plentiful!

With all that yardage I could knit just about anything I can dream up! It isn't exactly season appropriate, but I'm just so excited to have it! A dress, perhaps? A lacy cardigan? STOCKINGS?! All three???

What do you think I should do with it?

Happy weekend!

And all my love to those suffering in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy,

  1. First, that's a nicely framed photo. :) Very bright and exciting. I wish I knew how to knit or crochet something! I think it's a pretty cool skill/hobby to have. My grandma loves to crochet; she's made all of us grandchildren blankets, and I kind of wish I could do the same thing.

    1. Thank you, Dawn! I'm so in love with that mustardy yellow color, it manages to find its way into so many things I do. Learning to knit or crochet might seem daunting at first, but it's really all about learning one stitch. Just one! Once you've got it loaded in your muscle memory there are an infinity of different beautiful things you can make with that one little stitch. Pretty incredible, right?

  2. Yes! The photo is amazing!

Funny you said dress, because we have a dress/sweater combo that my grandma made years and years ago...and it's in almost the very same color!

    1. Thanks for visiting, Mollie! I'm new around here and getting my foot in the door feels a little daunting, so I really appreciate a friendly face from such a wonderful blog!
